Explore the topography of North Carolina on the 1985 Geological Map of the state in stunning 3D Raised Relief, an original creation from Muir Way. This unique map undergoes a meticulous process where it is printed, heated, and vacuum-formed over an intricately detailed 3D mold. The result is a map that allows you to visually and tactically explore the state's diverse terrain, from the Appalachian Mountains to the Atlantic Coastal Plain.

Framed maps do not have glass or acrylic over them, so you can touch the map and explore its intricacies.  

PLEASE NOTE

You will love this map if you embrace its anomalies. When the plastic is heated and stretched over the 3D mold, the image may be altered, causing warped lines and text around higher elevations. The fine print on plastic is not as sharp as on paper, sometimes rendering very small text illegible.

  • Framed Prints ship within 2-3 weeks plus transit time.

Full refund on returns within 30 days of purchase on unframed paper prints. We do NOT ACCEPT returns or exchanges on framed prints or canvas wraps because they are made to order.

American Hardwood Frames

We use real Walnut for our frames, unlike the lesser quality veneer you will typically find elsewhere. With beautiful hardwood grain, each is handmade to order at a professional frame shop.

    Looks just like the one from Amazon for $79. This one has a nice frame, and came packaged better.

    Hi Jennifer,
    Thank you for your feedback. The one we sell on Amazon for $79 is a smaller, unframed paper print version with shaded relief, as opposed to this one, which is a framed 3D version with real raised relief. We think they are both great, but with very different attributes.

    I Love It!

    I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. His reaction when he opened it was "I love it!". We moved to North Carolina earlier this year and after seeing a relief map on @GeographyByGeoff YouTube channel, I found and purchased this map. The only complaint was that the printing on the map is quite small (we have older eyes). Luckily, someone invented a magnifying glass, so problem solved!

    Beautiful Map of NC

    Wonderful Map!

    My wife and I live in western North Carolina. This map brings to life the geology of our area, is a great conversation piece, and has led us to explore our area in greater detail.
